Corry auto auction employees, dealers drive out hunger

Putting the breaks on hunger was the goal of a food drive hosted by staff members at Corry Auto Dealers Exchange.
During November about 500 pounds of nonperishable food items and $230 in cash were donated to the Corry Area Food Pantry.
Dealers and auction workers were challenged to bring in the items that will stay in the local area to assist needy families.
“As a local business, we want to support our community,” said George Pero, general manager of Corry Auto Dealers Exchange. “We want to take any opportunity to give back.”
All those who donated were treated to a turkey dinner at the auto auction in celebration of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Dick Farver, a food pantry board member, was at the auto auction on the day of the collection and said the food and cash will be used toward the organization’s November food distribution, which will assist anywhere from 300 to 350 Corry area families.
“We appreciate the generosity of the auto auction employees and dealers,” Farver said.
